In Gardener, Migle Kosinskaite presents a rhinoceros shaped not from muscle and hide but from foliage, as if it has grown directly out of the landscape it walks through. Its textured surface resembles dense leaves and moss, creating an immediate connection between the creature and the natural world around it. The monochrome green palette gives the scene a quiet, dreamlike calm.

The background is arranged like a stylized garden - tall, geometric plant shapes rising in soft rows, fading gently into the distance. The rhino seems unhurried, moving with the grounded steadiness of something both ancient and alive. Its horn and ears remain sharply defined, while the leaflike patterns across its body soften its presence and bring an unexpected tenderness to its form.

Migle Kosinskaite

Migle Kosinskaite is a celebrated artist currently based in Kaunas, Lithuania. A graduate of the Painting Department at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2001.
