NIJOLE STUNSKAITE-VILKE

Nijole Stunskaite-Vilke is a multidisciplinary Lithuanian artist whose work seamlessly bridges symbolism, textile artistry, poetry, and contemporary visual expression. She has spent more than four decades cultivating a distinctive artistic language rooted in Baltic mythology, spiritual symbolism, and the quiet emotive power of nature.

Working across textile art, silk painting, illustration, performance, and poetry, Stunskaite-Vilke creates artworks that feel both ancient and modern, deeply connected to cultural memory yet strikingly fresh in execution. Her hand-painted silk pieces, mythological drawings, and symbolic compositions evoke echoes of Ciurlionis, Simonis, and the broader European Symbolist tradition, while maintaining an unmistakably personal signature.

Stunskaite-Vilke is also celebrated for her contributions to Lithuanian cultural heritage. Her work has been exhibited across Lithuania and internationally, with selected collections presented in the United States.
