Garden II by Gintaras Tadauskas glows with a softer, more introspective light - as though the day has settled into reflection. The trees stand closer now, their canopies dissolving into a gentle haze that blurs the boundary between air and form. The color palette, subdued and harmonious, moves between muted greens and silvery greys, creating an atmosphere of calm observation. The scene breathes quietly, like a sigh caught between stillness and thought.

Tadauskas transforms simplicity into something profoundly emotional. Each rounded tree carries its own presence, its own rhythm, yet all seem connected by an invisible harmony that unites the landscape. The soft layering of pointillist texture turns light into movement, and shadow into song. Nothing is hurried - everything unfolds with patience, as if the world itself were in meditation.

In Garden II, Gintaras Tadauskas continues the lyrical dialogue begun in Garden I and completed in Garden III. Together, these paintings form a tranquil trilogy - a study of balance, silence, and the quiet radiance of nature. They are not mere landscapes, but reflections of the human spirit - an exploration of how peace can exist both in the world around us and within the spaces of the soul.

Meet the artist

Gintaras Tadauskas

Gintaras Tadauskas creates art that captivates not only with its unique technique but also with the profound values embedded in each painting. Drawing inspiration from the Bible, Tadauskas expresses his soul through themes of transformation and the beauty of life. From the strong roots of trees with sunlit birds perched at their tops to the magical journey of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, his work celebrates life’s fleeting yet eternal wonders. “Trees, butterflies, and birds guide us forward into something eternal—beyond the limits of our life journey,” he says.

Tadauskas’ work is crafted using one of the oldest artistic techniques: mineral tempera, a method that dates back to the creation of timeless icons. Minerals are extracted from stone and mixed with egg yolks to create colors that remain vibrant and unchanged for centuries. This technique, paired with the rich, vivid, and sometimes mysterious hues of his art, gives Tadauskas’ paintings a radiant glow that draws viewers in, inviting them to pause and reflect on the deeper beauty of life.
