Scarlett
Egle Kurlianskaite’s Scarlett is an eruption of energy and emotion - a composition where color collides, dissolves, and reemerges in a vivid, expressive landscape. Soft blush tones and pale whites are interrupted by bold strokes of crimson, charcoal, and emerald, creating a dynamic tension between delicacy and force. The surface feels alive, layered with gestural marks, drips, and sweeping movements that capture the immediacy of the artist’s hand.
At the heart of the composition, darker forms gather and expand, anchoring the surrounding bursts of color with a sense of depth and intensity. These contrasting elements suggest fragments of nature - petals, foliage, or shifting terrain - yet never fully resolve into a single image. Instead, they exist in a state of transformation, inviting the viewer to experience the painting as a living moment rather than a fixed scene.
Scarlett is ultimately a meditation on passion - on the beauty of raw expression and the power of unrestrained movement. Kurlianskaite channels emotion into color, allowing spontaneity to guide the composition. The result is an artwork that feels both intimate and expansive, where softness and strength coexist, and where every gesture becomes a reflection of vitality in motion.
