In Folded a Stick with a Cold Face, Andrius Miezis constructs a striking fusion of emotion and geometry, restraint and absurdity. The immense pale face dominates the composition, its expression unreadable — a mask caught between stillness and tension. Beneath it, two pink fists and a painted “X” interrupt the symmetry, injecting a sense of human defiance or protest into the otherwise immobile calm.

The figure’s eyes, half-lidded and framed by violet shadow, seem both weary and amused, while the large black lips curve downward like a void of withheld words. Behind the head, horizontal stripes of color slice through the background — echoes of rational order and artificial structure.

Miezis plays with the idea of containment — of feelings compressed behind the surface of composure. The “cold face” becomes a façade, and the “folded stick” a metaphor for suppressed energy or broken discipline.
