City of Time 2 by Aurelijus Langvinis unfolds as a poetic meditation on transience and eternity. In the center, a monumental hourglass towers above a radiant city, its sands glowing gold beneath the sunlit sky. A child approaches through a stone gate, drawn by the mystery of its timeless rhythm. Around him, luminous trees float on airborne islands, their roots freed from gravity, their crowns shimmering like celestial torches. Every element breathes both movement and stillness - a world caught between the flow of moments and the permanence of wonder.

Langvinis orchestrates this vision with his signature blend of precision and lyricism. The mountains, painted in cool serenity, hold the horizon steady as the golden sands cascade downward, forming the very foundations of civilization. The architecture mirrors the order of passing hours - each structure, like a grain of time, part of a greater harmony. The palette of sky blue and amber carries the warmth of memory and the chill of infinity, capturing that delicate equilibrium where life becomes luminous through its impermanence.

In City of Time 2, Aurelijus Langvinis transforms the notion of time into a landscape of hope and introspection. The hourglass ceases to measure decay and begins to signify renewal - a sacred cycle in which endings give birth to beginnings. The child’s journey toward the city becomes a metaphor for humanity’s search for meaning, where every step forward is also a return to the source of light.

Meet the artist

Aurelijus Langvinis

Aurelijus Langvinis, currently residing and creating in Lithuania, is an artist whose imaginative vision transports viewers into otherworldly realms. Actively painting with oils on canvas, Aurelijus primarily delves into the fantasy genre, where his pieces breathe life into fantastical landscapes and cities.

Central to Aurelijus's work is the symbolism of trees. For him, trees represent protection and life - a tribute to his late grandfather, a gardener who planted numerous trees. As a child, Aurelijus found solace and adventure playing among those trees, a memory that profoundly shapes his artistic expression today.
