In Flowers of Dreams I, Aukse Drazdiene unveils a vision of nature reimagined - a garden suspended between the real and the surreal, where flora transforms into symbols of inner reflection. The piece radiates a quiet tension between order and wildness, capturing the moment when dreams take form and consciousness drifts into reverie. It is an exploration of life’s poetic geometry, where every curve and tendril seems to grow from both the earth and the imagination.

The composition is lush with intricate organic detail. Drazdiene’s forms are at once recognizable and otherworldly - petals that resemble shells, stems that pulse like living veins, and textures that shimmer with muted vitality. Her palette of soft greens, pale yellows, and dusky violets builds a serene yet mysterious atmosphere. Through fine, deliberate linework, the artist weaves a delicate balance between structure and fluidity, allowing the viewer to sense both the pulse of life and the stillness of contemplation.

Through Flowers of Dreams I, Drazdiene reflects on the connection between dreaming and creation - how imagination can bloom in patterns as complex and vital as nature itself. The work hums with quiet introspection and elegance, inviting the eye to linger and the mind to wander. In dialogue with Flowers of Dreams II, it forms a harmonious pair - two halves of a dream in full, unfolding like twin blossoms in an infinite garden of thought.

Meet the artist

Aukse Drazdiene

Aukse Drazdiene is a Lithuanian artist whose work unveils a dreamlike world of flora suspended between reality and imagination. Born in Klaipėda in 1974, she graduated from the Kaunas Justinas Vienožinskis Faculty of Arts with a specialization in artistic leather. Since 2020, she has developed her own distinctive mixed technique, combining the precision of graphics with the softness of watercolor. She became a member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists' Union in 2025.

Drazdiene's art is deeply inspired by nature - its forms, textures, and unexpected beauty. Yet her works do not aim to replicate what already exists. Instead, she transforms flowers and plants into mystical, surreal botanical worlds that appear both delicate and monumental. Each piece feels like a quiet meditation, balancing fragility and strength, detail and imagination.
