Princess Dream by Gintaras Tadauskas is a portrait of calm reverie and quiet majesty. The figure’s profile, turned gently toward an unseen light, radiates inner peace and meditative beauty. Her features are softened by golden tones, while the intricate geometric patterns across her skin evoke sacred architecture - as though she is both human and divine, part dream and part memory.

The artist’s mastery lies in subtle contrasts - between the warmth of her illuminated face and the subdued background, between the delicate spirals of her hair and the tranquil geometry of her skin. Each curl, each line, each faint shimmer of light contributes to a sense of silent rhythm, a breath suspended in time. There is elegance not just in her form but in her stillness, in her surrender to thought.

In Princess Dream, Gintaras Tadauskas turns the act of dreaming into a spiritual experience. The figure seems to exist between worlds - one of tangible beauty and another of pure consciousness. The painting becomes a meditation on grace, identity, and the luminous quiet found within the self - where imagination and serenity merge into one timeless vision.

Meet the artist

Gintaras Tadauskas

Gintaras Tadauskas creates art that captivates not only with its unique technique but also with the profound values embedded in each painting. Drawing inspiration from the Bible, Tadauskas expresses his soul through themes of transformation and the beauty of life. From the strong roots of trees with sunlit birds perched at their tops to the magical journey of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, his work celebrates life’s fleeting yet eternal wonders. “Trees, butterflies, and birds guide us forward into something eternal—beyond the limits of our life journey,” he says.

Tadauskas’ work is crafted using one of the oldest artistic techniques: mineral tempera, a method that dates back to the creation of timeless icons. Minerals are extracted from stone and mixed with egg yolks to create colors that remain vibrant and unchanged for centuries. This technique, paired with the rich, vivid, and sometimes mysterious hues of his art, gives Tadauskas’ paintings a radiant glow that draws viewers in, inviting them to pause and reflect on the deeper beauty of life.
