Andrius Miezis’s Sunrise on the Edge of the World captures a quiet, almost sacred pause between the familiar and the infinite. Three figures sit together at the brink of a green field, gazing toward a massive, glowing orb that dominates the sky. Its molten hues - rust, gold, and ember - suggest both dawn and apocalypse, a sun at once rising and burning out.

The scene feels suspended in time: a child, flanked by two adults, listens as one gestures toward the light. A dog sits to the side, contemplative, while a lone duck drifts across a still puddle below - each creature folded into the same hush of observation. The simplicity of the composition conceals its depth: connection, wonder, and the fragile continuity of generations under a sky that seems both intimate and immense.

In Sunrise on the Edge of the World, Miezis turns the everyday act of watching the sun into a cosmic meditation. It’s about inheritance - the stories, silences, and gazes we share across time - and the recognition that even at the world’s edge, life continues to look upward.
