In Take My Soul, City Night - Andrius Miezis constructs a dreamlike urban labyrinth where loneliness, desire, and absurdity coexist within the same dimly lit architecture. Each room in the painting tells a fragment of a story - a person sprawled across a bed labeled “hopes,” another reaching from confinement, cars below filled with moon-faced passengers caught in endless motion.
The city feels both mechanical and human, its rhythm pulsing with quiet melancholy. Signs like “4 Rooms for Life” and “Reception” parody modern existence, turning life into a hotel of transient emotions. Miezis’s figures drift between playfulness and despair, their exaggerated heads and hollow gazes mirroring the surreal emptiness of city nights.
In Take My Soul, City Night, Miezis captures the poetry of urban isolation - a place where dreams are commodified, love is compartmentalized, and yet, amid the absurdity, a strange tenderness lingers like a quiet light in the dark.
