In Caretaker II, Migle Kosinskaite continues her exploration of guardianship through a lens of tenderness and introspection. A raven, dressed in a diamond-patterned robe reminiscent of harlequin costume, stands in profile before a single calla lily. The bird’s composed stillness contrasts with the flower’s fragile vitality - a moment of balance between intellect and emotion, discipline and grace. The muted pastel tones lend the piece a sense of quiet warmth, as though light were filtered through memory.
The geometric symmetry of the garment grounds the work in structure, while the ruffled white collar recalls both ritual and restraint. Around the raven, faint copper orbs hover like thoughts or distant moons - fragments of awareness illuminating the surrounding calm. Kosinskaite’s brushwork is precise yet gentle, transforming the anthropomorphic portrait into a meditation on empathy.
In Caretaker II, guardianship takes the form of acceptance. It is less about protection than understanding - the wisdom to see beauty as fleeting and still choose to nurture it. Together with Caretaker I, it completes a poetic dialogue about light, vigilance, and the quiet strength found in care.
