In Charade, Migle Kosinskaite constructs a dreamlike theatre of symbols - a grid of miniature worlds where familiar objects meet in quiet absurdity. A shrimp, a staircase, a glass, a cloud, a brain - each stands motionless on its own pink pedestal, suspended within a pattern of illusionistic walls. The stage is empty of figures, yet full of presence. Every object seems to whisper a fragment of meaning, inviting the viewer to play a private game of association and intuition - a puzzle of the subconscious framed with deliberate precision.
Kosinskaite orchestrates her composition like a modern allegory. The spatial rhythm of grey and blush tones evokes a surreal chessboard where emotion and intellect negotiate. Her objects, painted with classical control yet placed in irrational order, become emblems of thought, appetite, memory, and desire. The shrimp echoes instinct, the brain cognition, the ladder aspiration, the cake indulgence - and between them, a single cup of coffee grounds the scene in human familiarity.
Charade explores how meaning is built through fragments - how our lives, like this composition, are arranged from small contradictions and private metaphors. Poetic, humorous, and sharply intelligent, the painting reads like a visual poem about perception itself - an invitation to decode, to dream, and to recognize the surreal logic behind the everyday.
