Farewell to Bauhaus by Migle Kosinskaite is an enigmatic reflection on the fragility of modern ideals. The scene unfolds like a surreal theatre: a figure in black stands beneath floating balloons, while another bends backward in a gesture both graceful and strained. In the background, a stark white Bauhaus-inspired house rises like a relic of rational perfection, now isolated within a desolate landscape.

Kosinskaite’s restrained palette of greys, whites, and reds speaks of memory and transition. The architectural purity of Bauhaus is contrasted with the instability of human posture - control dissolving into vulnerability. The figures, suspended between performance and collapse, evoke the tension between utopian design and emotional truth, between intellect and instinct.

In Farewell to Bauhaus, Kosinskaite constructs a quiet requiem for an era of order. The composition becomes an allegory of departure - a farewell to certainty, symmetry, and the belief that beauty alone can sustain meaning. It is both homage and elegy, a meditation on what remains when ideals drift into the sky like untethered balloons.
