In Nocturne No.3, Migle Kosinskaite constructs an enigmatic creature out of color, pattern, and rhythm. The animal - part tiger, part abstraction - walks through a subdued dreamscape, its stripes made of layered hues and materials. From its mouth projects a sharp beam of blue, as if it were exhaling light or thought. This geometric gesture bridges the organic and the artificial, giving the work a sense of contemporary myth.
The composition is both playful and philosophical. The body’s textures evoke fabric, paint, and skin simultaneously, each strip a fragment of history and experience. The creature moves with solemn grace through the muted landscape, carrying the echo of humanity in its form and purpose. Kosinskaite’s restrained palette gives way to flashes of brilliance, creating harmony between depth and detachment.
Together, Nocturne No.1, Nocturne No.2, and Nocturne No.3 form a trilogy of transformation. Each painting explores identity through the lens of metamorphosis - part myth, part self-reflection. In their union, Migle Kosinskaite composes a nocturnal mythology, where every creature, whether born of shadow, light, or imagination, becomes a vessel for the timeless question: what does it mean to be alive within the silence of the night?
