Nocturne No.1 by Migle Kosinskaite unfolds as a meditation on strength, vulnerability, and transformation. The hybrid form - half man, half horse - stands in a quiet twilight space, suspended between human consciousness and animal instinct. The muted tones of brown and grey are interrupted by a piercing blue line, an electric pulse that divides yet connects two worlds: the physical and the spiritual.

Kosinskaite’s brushwork reveals the tactile softness of flesh and the solemn weight of the horse’s gaze. The composition feels both sculptural and ethereal, evoking a mythic stillness where body and soul meet in equilibrium. The blue line acts as a boundary of perception - the threshold between control and surrender, reason and wildness.

Migle Kosinskaite

Migle Kosinskaite is a celebrated artist currently based in Kaunas, Lithuania. A graduate of the Painting Department at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2001.

Migle's work has been showcased in personal exhibitions across Lithuania and internationally, including the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Ukraine, and Sweden.

Her art is known for its surrealistic style, blending realistic depictions of humans and animals with intricate geometric patterns and theatrical themes. Recurring motifs like masks and costumes highlight her fascination with femininity, relationships, and emotional expression.
