In Migle Kosinskaite’s Silly Games, the monumental presence of a rhinoceros becomes both majestic and strangely tender. The creature, rendered with exquisite textural detail, stands against a dark, flat background interrupted by bold patches of color - a red circle, a turquoise plane, and a pink form that seem to float in playful defiance of logic. The composition is stripped of context, transforming the heavy body of the animal into a quiet symbol suspended between power and absurdity.

Kosinskaite’s mastery lies in this juxtaposition. The rhino, a timeless emblem of strength and endurance, moves through a space that feels weightless and theatrical. The artist’s surface treatment, with its mottled and aged patina, recalls both ancient stone and living skin, suggesting the tension between permanence and vulnerability. Meanwhile, the bright geometric forms hum like fragments of modern thought - intrusions of whimsy within the solemnity of existence.

Silly Games ultimately reflects on the contradictions of the contemporary condition - how beauty and absurdity, strength and fragility, coexist within the same frame. Through this visually serene yet conceptually charged work, Migle Kosinskaite invites us to consider the games we play with meaning itself: the colors we impose upon reality, and the delicate balance between what is instinctively wild and what we call human understanding.
