Day of Summer by Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene drifts in the serenity of stillness and sun. A lone figure sits at the edge of the shore, her body softened by light, a white cap shielding her from the calm blaze of day. At her side rests a small bird, poised and listening, as if both share a language spoken only through silence and warmth.
The artist composes the scene with refined restraint - vast planes of sky and sand merge in quiet harmony, broken only by the rhythm of simple details: the striped basket, the folded towel, the delicate fish motifs beneath her feet. Through her minimalism, Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene transforms an ordinary seaside moment into a meditation on intimacy and balance between human presence and the horizon’s endless calm.
In Day of Summer, the viewer senses time dissolving into sunlight - a gentle invitation to rest, to breathe, to remember the sweetness of pause. The work becomes a portrait of peace itself, where memory and dream exist side by side, carried by the slow pulse of the sea.
