Oldtown by Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene unfolds as a vibrant labyrinth of memory - a mosaic of homes, walls, and histories that seem to hum with quiet life. The artist’s textured brushwork evokes the passage of time, layering pigments like recollections that blur and overlap. Burnt orange, ochre, and turquoise tones radiate warmth, suggesting not just architecture but the rhythm of human presence woven into every surface.

Each roof and window appears both distinct and interconnected - an intricate dialogue between individuality and community. The forms rise and merge, their outlines softened by age and intimacy, as if the city itself were breathing in the glow of a late afternoon. This is not a literal landscape, but an emotional one - a portrait of belonging painted through the language of texture and tone.

Oldtown stands as a reflection on memory’s architecture - how places hold the weight of what we’ve lived, loved, and lost. Through her masterful abstraction, Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene captures not a single street or square, but the spirit of all familiar towns - their poetry of closeness, imperfection, and enduring light.
