The Morning I by Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene captures the intimate stillness of awakening - a suspended moment between thought and breath. Bathed in soft tones of ivory and gold, the figure reclines in quiet introspection, her gaze focused on the delicate butterfly perched before her. The composition is serene yet charged with subtle emotion, as if the entire space were holding its breath in the presence of new awareness.

The artist’s palette of warm, muted hues evokes tenderness and fragility, while the elongated figure recalls both strength and vulnerability. Light filters gently through the scene, dissolving the boundaries between the physical and the spiritual. Here, morning is not just a time of day - it is a state of being, a quiet meditation on renewal and grace.

In harmony with The Morning II, which expands this introspection into a more outward rhythm of life, The Morning I serves as its inner counterpart - the genesis of calm before the day unfolds. Through her sensitive balance of form and atmosphere, Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene transforms an ordinary morning into a lyrical exploration of consciousness, beauty, and stillness.
