The Morning II
The Morning II by Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene radiates a sense of calm ritual and sunlit abundance - a quiet celebration of life’s simplest pleasures. The artist composes the scene from above, transforming an ordinary breakfast table into a poetic tableau of form and color. Lemons, seafood, coffee, and fresh greenery lie within an airy geometry of light and shadow, creating a symphony of balance between the tangible and the contemplative.
Every element in this painting feels intentional - the sharpness of the lemons, the curve of the pitcher, the organic contrast of the leaves. Together, they create an atmosphere of stillness touched by joy. The soft tones of sand and sky evoke the sensation of a slow morning breeze, where thought lingers between the freshness of the day and the memory of warmth.
In dialogue with The Morning I, which portrayed the introspection of awakening, The Morning II captures the outward gaze - the quiet fullness that follows stillness. Here, Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene expands the narrative of morning into one of mindfulness and sensory presence, where the poetry of the everyday becomes a luminous act of being.
