Old Town II by Zivile Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene composition is built like a memory - fragments of walls, rooftops, and shadows interwoven into a vibrant visual rhythm. Tones of blush, teal, ochre, and slate merge in textured harmony, echoing the pulse of life that flows through narrow streets and timeworn façades.

In this work, Rudzikaite-Matuzoniene refines her balance between structure and chaos. Layers of paint shift like light across stone, while geometric forms rise and dissolve, mirroring how cities evolve in both space and recollection. The artist’s brush carries the essence of the familiar - the scent of rain on old brick, the murmur of distant footsteps, the warmth of history rendered in color.

Together, Old Town and Old Town II form a dialogue between past and present. While the first breathes in vivid rhythm and density, the second moves with quiet reflection, allowing negative space to suggest air and time. Both invite the viewer to wander through a city that is less about place than about presence - a world of memory, texture, and emotion rebuilt through the artist’s luminous abstraction.
