Do You See Me? by Arturas Braziunas radiates both vulnerability and quiet grandeur. Against a golden field that glows with restrained warmth, a single sheep stands adorned with jewels and pearls, its humble form transformed into a vessel of silent majesty. The creature’s dark face tilts gently, its golden eyes steady yet questioning, carrying an almost human awareness. Each gem gleams like a fragment of a deeper story - tokens of value placed upon innocence, symbols of how we adorn what we rarely understand.

The painting’s restrained palette enhances its emotional clarity. The luminous background, softened by hints of shadow and deep crimson along the upper edge, feels almost sacred, like a backdrop to revelation. The jewels - sapphire, ruby, pearl - catch the light in subtle rhythm, echoing constellations scattered across the surface of the living. Braziunas’s brushwork is tender and precise, revealing not ornamentation but transformation: the animal as icon, the ordinary made luminous through attention and empathy.

In Do You See Me?, Braziunas reflects on perception, worth, and the quiet dignity that lives beyond appearances. The question in the title reverberates through the gaze of the sheep - a gentle challenge to see beyond the gold and surface, to encounter the soul within. The work becomes a meditation on compassion and recognition, suggesting that true vision requires not only the eye, but the heart’s willingness to see what glimmers beneath.
