From the Abyss by Krista Augius unfolds like a slow immersion into silence. The artist translates depth into vibration, layering gradients of blue that seem to breathe between darkness and light. Each circular form emerges from the void, arranged with meditative precision, like fragments of thought rising through water. The composition feels both measured and fluid - a dialogue between structure and surrender, between the seen and the sensed.

The left side glows with warmth, where pale and amber circles anchor the rhythm of the work. As the gaze moves rightward, the forms dissolve into shadow, vanishing softly into the indigo expanse. Augius orchestrates this transition not as contrast but as continuum - a pulse of existence fading into the unspoken. The surface is alive with quiet texture, subtle echoes of touch that hold emotion within restraint.

In From the Abyss, Krista Augius explores the emotional architecture of depth - how darkness can cradle light, how repetition can awaken meditation. The painting becomes an inward horizon, where abstraction takes the shape of feeling. It is less an image than a state of awareness, a slow exhale into the infinite spaces that exist between color, rhythm, and breath.

Meet the artist

Krista Augius

Krista Augius is a Malibu based multidisciplinary artist best known for her richly textured oil paintings that blur the boundaries between myth, emotion, and illusion. Her work invites the viewer into an atmospheric realm where abstraction meets symbolism, and where silence often speaks louder than words.

Through distinct bodies of work – including Mythical Abstraction, Circles of Intention, Mythical Codes, and imaginative figurative compositions Augius explores themes of
presence and absence, nature and transformation. Each piece is a visual meditation: layered, intuitive, and quietly powerful.

Krista Augius’s art encourages a slow gaze and a personal response, offering a contemplative space where the inner world meets the shared human experience.

Augius has exhibited in international art fairs and institutions, including the LA Art Show, SF Art Market, and a cultural exhibition in Palermo, Italy, in collaboration with the Lithuanian Consulate. Her work has also been displayed at the MAACA Museum in Italy and, in 2024, also had a show and was acquired as part of the permanent collection at the Samogitian Museum in Lithuania.
