Krista Augius
Krista Augius is a Malibu-based multidisciplinary artist best known for her richly textured oil paintings that blur the boundaries between myth, emotion, and illusion. Her work invites viewers into an atmospheric realm where abstraction meets symbolism, and where silence can speak louder than words.
Through distinct bodies of work — including Mythical Abstraction, Circles of Intention, Mythical Codes, and imaginative figurative compositions — Augius explores themes of presence and absence, nature and transformation. Each piece becomes a visual meditation: layered, intuitive, and quietly powerful.
Augius’ art encourages a slow gaze and a personal response, creating a contemplative space where the inner world meets shared human experience. Her richly layered surfaces and symbolic imagery invite viewers to move beyond immediate perception and discover their own emotional connection to the work.
Augius has exhibited internationally at prominent art fairs and cultural institutions, including the LA Art Show, SF Art Market, and a cultural exhibition in Palermo, Italy, presented in collaboration with the Lithuanian Consulate. Her work has also been displayed at the MAACA Museum in Italy.
In 2024, Augius held an exhibition at the Samogitian Museum in Lithuania, where her work was acquired for the museum’s permanent collection, further establishing her presence within the international contemporary art landscape.
