Mystic Mountain Cloud
Mystic Mountain Cloud by Krista Augius unfolds like a meditation between breath and silence. The composition moves in soft gradations of grey, white, and deep indigo - a landscape and a dream intertwined. The mountain seems to emerge from mist, not as a form but as a memory of solidity, dissolving at its edges into the weightless expanse of cloud. The brushwork is deliberate yet fluid, each stroke whispering of wind, of distance, of the way the earth exhales into the sky.
There is no horizon here, only the slow merging of substance and vapor, light and shadow. Augius turns the act of painting into an act of listening - her strokes echo the rhythm of natural forces, the kind that shift not in seconds but in centuries. The muted palette deepens the sense of quiet transcendence, transforming the mountain from a physical structure into a vessel of consciousness. What begins as observation ends as surrender, as the mountain’s strength fades gracefully into atmosphere.
In Mystic Mountain Cloud, Krista Augius captures the fragile boundary between permanence and impermanence. The painting feels less like an image and more like a state of being - one that invites the viewer to dissolve with it. Through this gentle abstraction, Augius reveals that mystery does not lie in the unseen, but in the fleeting union of what is momentary and what endures.
