I Will Believe With All My Heart and Love Like a Baby by Darius Kairaitis radiates an innocent wonder that feels both mythic and deeply human. The painting captures a tender moment between a wide-eyed figure and a golden fish, their gazes locked in an unspoken understanding. The subject’s expression, round with awe and sincerity, embodies the purity of belief - that childlike conviction that love, once found, is enough to heal and sustain.

Kairaitis infuses the scene with rich, earthy tones - russet, gold, and amber - evoking the warmth of both firelight and faith. His textured brushwork breathes life into the scales of the fish and the softness of human touch. There is a sacred simplicity here, where emotion transcends logic and devotion becomes a universal language. The composition, intimate yet symbolic, transforms an encounter with nature into a spiritual act of trust and affection.

In I Will Believe With All My Heart and Love Like a Baby, Darius Kairaitis offers a quiet manifesto for tenderness. It is about surrendering to wonder, about holding the fragile and miraculous as though it were a heartbeat in one’s hands. Through this luminous vision, the artist reminds us that faith and love are not separate forces - they are the same pulse that keeps the world alive.

Darius Kairaitis

Darius Kairaitis is a Lithuanian painter whose art is as unique as his journey. A self-taught artist, he discovered his passion for painting at the age of 48, proving that creativity knows no age. His works, rich in emotion and originality, have gained recognition both in Lithuania and internationally, captivating audiences with their vibrant colors, symbolic depth, and whimsical charm.

Kairaitis’ signature style features “little figures,” expressive characters that serve as narrators of his stories. In 2020, Kairaitis received permission to incorporate Shustrov’s dolls and their fragments into his work, resulting in several early paintings that beautifully intertwine the sculptor’s motifs with Kairaitis’ unique artistic vision. These figures, often reflecting human emotions and experiences, invite viewers to connect on a deeply personal level. His paintings are a blend of bold textures, soft lines, and intuitive color play, creating pieces that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
